Tuesday January 24 5:00 to 6:00pm: The Local Food Scene in
Nebraska with guests Charuth Loth and Krista Dittman
Charuth and Kevin's Vegetable Farm:
Shadow Brook Farm
 |
Rows and rows of delicious lettuces. These are
sold at farmer's markets in Lincoln and Omaha Nebraska and
at the Loth's Country market store. |
| A future cheesemaker. (The kid not the
boy silly!) Charuth has made goat's milk cheese all
her life for her own enjoyment, but is now planning on
making artisan quality cheeses on their farm with milk from
their goats. |
 |
 |
The farmer's market season is almost over as Shadow
Brook sells "winter indoor gardens" to help people get
through the long cold winter. |
| Here is the Shadow Brook Country Store where
Charuth and Kevin sell their produce along with outher
locally grown and produced goods. |
 |
Doug and Krista's Beef, Dairy, and Poultry Farm:
Branched Oak Farm
Doug and Krista, in addition to their milking cows, free range
broilers and laying chickens, and beef cattle also make butter and plan
to start making cheese in the near future. They too have a store
where they sell their products as well as other locally produced food. |
