Tuesday, March 13:  Raw Food with Carlene Ramus

What are Living and Raw Foods?

Raw and Living Foods are foods that contain enzymes. In general, the act of heating food over 116 degrees F destroys enzymes in food. (Enzymes start to degrade in as little as 106 degrees F. All cooked food is devoid of enzymes, furthermore cooking food changes the molecular structure of the food and renders it toxic. Living and raw foods also have enormously higher nutrient values than the foods that have been cooked.

Tuesday, March 20:  AGA Cookers with AGA enthusiast Maxine Longmuir

I have always been intrigued by AGA Cookers (I did call them AGA Stoves until a friend corrected me on that yesterday!) - they are simply beautiful and add warmth to any kitchen.  But, it wasn't until I was on a home tour and heard a woman talking about them that I realized there was a lot more to an AGA than just the beauty.  In fact, after hearing about them on that tour, I was pretty sure that I wouldn't want one.  Still, I had heard through the grapevine that Maxine and Graham who own the Sugartree Inn and I thought it would be fun to learn more about them.
